Valge-toonekurg, Ciconia ciconia

Valge-toonekurg, Ciconia ciconia, European White Stork
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. :) Saying this, we add that this is not a squirrel on the bicture (but a White Stork) nor a is he blind... Well it sounds more logical in estonian :) Pärnumaa, Estonia.

Liivatüll, Charadrius hiaticula

Liivatüll, Charadrius hiaticula, Ringed Plover
Üks huvitav rannalind Pakri poolsaarel. Hoidisid küll pildistajast väikest distantsi, kuid muidu olid suhteliselt julged.
An interesting bird from a beach in Pakri Peninsula, Estonia - Ringed Plover. They kept a little distance from the photographer but all in all were quite daring.

Rebane, Vulpes vulpes

Rebane, Red Fox, Vulpes vulpes
Va reinuvader õhtuvalguses. Arvas vist, et sulandub tausta sisse. Tükk aega passis liikumatult. Aga nii ongi parem pilt, sest lume kadumine on rebased teinud üsna rääbakaks - talvisest kaunist kohevusest pole enam midagi alles. Kõrvemaa.
Reynard in the evening light. I guess he thought that he can blend in to the background. He stood there quite a long time motionless. But this is for the better as the disappearance of the snow has made the foxes quite scrawny - nothing is left wintry fluffyness.

Meile muidugi see sobis, sest varem me polnud sellist "kollast linavästrikut" kohanud.
Curious birdy in Pärnu beach - Blue-headed Wagtail. He was a bit afraid but curiosity did not let him fly far. And that suited us well as we had never seen such "yellow Wagtail".

Ohakalind, Carduelis carduelis

Ohakalind, Carduelis carduelis, European Goldfinch
Meie üks lemmikutest Eesti linnuliikidest. Neid on üpriski raske leida ning alati tulevad nad ootamatult :) Pärnumaa.
One of our favorite bird species in Estonia. They are pretty hard to find and they always come unexpected :) Pärnumaa.

Hallhani, Anser anser

Hallhani, Anser anser, Greylag Goose
As always the most memorable and gorgeous pictures are the ones of the moving objects. At this moment we were observing hatching birds (Greylag Goose) in Noa-Rootsi who can still amaze with their grace.

Leevike, Pyrrhula pyrrhula

Leevike, Pyrrhula pyrrhula, Bullfinch
Taaskord oleme tabanud kauni punapugulise leevikese. Sel korral siis juba kevadisemas miljöös Porkunis.
Again we have captured a beautiful red-breasted Bullfinch. This time in a spring-time milieu in Porkuni, Estonia.

Halljänes, Lepus europaeus

Halljänes, Brown Hare, Lepus europaeus
Olime teel Noa-Rootsist kodu poole, päike hakkas loojuma.
We were heading home from Noa-Rootsi, the sun was setting. On a small forest road there were 2 Brown Hares in the middle of the road. As we were closing in, they jumped into the bushes. We stopped and tried to make picture and I asked my wife to turn off the radio (to reduce the noise). As soon as the radio was turned off, the rabbits jumped away. I guess the beautiful melodies of Estonian composer Valgre were the only reasons why they stayed in the beginning. :)

Merisk, Haematopus ostralegus

Merisk, Haematopus ostralegus, Oystercatcher
Species acknowledgment photo from Matsalu Reserve, Estonia - Oystercatcher. We could not go closer as the seaside meadows are protected and there is no trespassing. Therefore such a mediocre picture.
