Kui varem oleme näidanud peamiselt pilte emaorangutanist, siis täna on poja kord. Poeg elab koos emaga kuni kolmanda eluaastani st päris kaua. Selle aja jooksul õpitakse selgeks vajalikud nipid - millist sööki korjata, milliseid elukaid karta, kuidas igal õhtul puulatva pesa teha jne.
Before we have shown mainly photos of the mother orangutan, today, it's son's turn. The youngsters live with their mother until they are 3 years old. During that time they learn all what is necessary - what kind of food to gather, which animals to be afraid of, how to build a nest each night etc.
Perepilt. Kokku on Sumatra orangutane alles vaid veidi üle 7000 isendi (Borneo orangutane on 6 korda rohkem), tegemist on kriitilises väljasuremisohus oleva liigiga. Loodetavasti see väga intelligente primaat suudab siiski kohaneda ja vastu pidada. Ketambe, Gungung Leuseri Rahvuspark, Indoneesia.
Family photo. There are only about 7000 Sumatran orangutans left (there are 6 times more Borneon orangutans), so it is critically endangered species. Hopefully this very intelligent primate is able to adapt and hold on. Ketambe, Gungung Leuser NP, Indonesia.
